Public awareness program related to insurance completed in Amargadhi Municipality

The Insurance Committee has conducted a public awareness program on insurance in Amargadhi Municipality of Dadeldhura District.

Deputy Director of Insurance Committee Virodh Bhat, Assistant Director Nischal Raj Bania and Assistant First Anurag Pandey were present on the occasion.

Similarly, heads of municipalities, ward chairpersons, people’s representatives, representatives of District Animal Office, District Agriculture Development Office and Agriculture Knowledge Center were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor of Amargadhi Municipality Bishweshwar Prasad Ojha said that insurance would be a habit of security and savings and requested the city dwellers to insure themselves.

He requested the committee to take necessary initiative to make the claim payment process certain and simple.

Similarly, city deputy chief Sangita Bhandari has requested the insurance companies and people’s representatives to hold insurance programs and discussions.

The participants of the program have requested the Insurance Committee for agent training. Farmers had complained that they could not insure their animals due to lack of tag.

Insurance companies have been reluctant to insure chickens. The representative of the Agriculture Knowledge Center said that there is no proper publicity of agricultural insurance and suggested to increase the number of agricultural insurance agents.

Participants in the program have suggested the Insurance Committee to open a provincial office.

Insurance companies have suggested that even though they provide good service only in big cities, they do not provide it in small towns.

The companies complained that even though they paid in advance in big cities, they did not pay in small towns.
